Luc turns to sock puppet for support
After a rough 2008, our good friend Luc Bernard has decided to focus his efforts on a number of new projects for 2009 on both the Apple iPhone and Nintendo WiiWare game download services.
Luc, along with a close personal friend of his and a handful of investors, has established a new game development company that will be based in Florida. This new company currently has two games in development and Luc was kind enough to provide a little insight into these two new titles via his official blog.
Strategy Game (iPhone/Wiiware/Steam)
This game will be similar to Advance Wars but with rpg elements in it. I don't want to say too much about it or the title yet, but it's set in the same world as Eternity's Child.
The lead programmer on it has worked at EA so he's really good. And has actually in the past worked on strategy games, so he's helping design it, the difference maybe between Advance Wars and this game is the environment, how that works well you will see once the game comes out. I don't want to reveal too much but I am quite proud of it, it's beautifully designed.
Rose Princess (Steam, Wiiware and any other machine that has a controller)
What was first a game designed to basically help my ex get some promotion, well has turned into something else, I decided to take it back and well redesign it, since I really liked it for some reason, like Looney Toons on crack.
Since I am full time on the strategy game right now up until february, Rose Princess is just being worked on part time, I am not the only concept artist this time, I decided to take David North to work with me on the concept art. I think us combining both of our ideas can bring something truely unique.
Now gameplay wise, that is the most important, it will be a metroidvania style of game, it will be the second game with the new company, I am not going to go too hardcore like I was going to do before (like Mr Cuddles used to snort carrot powder all the time) or either it won't be allowed up on Wiiware.
Luc was quick to point out that his new company was not yet licensed as an official WiiWare developer, but that they were going to apply soon. You can check out one of the official pieces of artwork from Rose Princess below.
We'll have more information on any future Luc Bernard titles in development as it becomes available.

Still waiting for EC, but the other games in the pipe sound interesting (especially glad to hear that Rose Princess hasn't been abandoned). I'm wondering if Luc is interested in development for DSiWare (to put "EC: The Lost Chapter" on it or something else...like "Strategy" using the touch screen battling over Nintendo Wi-Fi?). Then again, one step at a time. They still need developer's status.

I wonder if we'll ever get Eternity's Child on Wiiware. It came out on PC quite awhile ago and met harsh criticism.... I hope we'll eventually get a more polished version of the game.

Cool to see Luc back. He has some great ideas.
But like Wiiloveit said, is he still making the robot/RPG/platformer game now. That looked really interesting.

I guess that retirement was more like a short circuit reaction. How would you feel if your first officially released game gets the least rating possible?
I hope we'll see EC soon. I liked the free mobile phone version, although it was a bit buggy (and unhandy to control on my mobile).
However, those flaws won't be in on the Wiiware Version

@Zoipi: Wiiware world is now my "info pag web" because, the games of wiiware are more interesting than games of wii.
In wiiware: Lost winds, TV show king, Toki tori, Final fantasy, World of goo, bomberman, megaman.... and we can see a good games for future: LIT, last fight, Eternys child, Rose princess, aero guitar...
But in wii we can´t see a very good games: madworld, Tales of symponia and i don´t know more.

this luc bernard seems to be full of smelly stuff.he talked about this eternitys child for ages,never even come out on wii ware and got awful pc reviews.then announces his retirement and now hes back on the scene again.all i can say luc is we will believe it when we see it and even if we do im pretty confident theyll be smelly stuff.

I don't care what anybody tells me, I tried EC on steam and it sucked. And don't tell me that "the wii version will be so much better" Luc is just trying to butter you guys up so you review his game better.....It had to be said.
