Gooey music for your ears!
It seems the soundtrack trend continues and this time it's one of the most hotly-anticipated musical scores of 2008. That's right, 2D Boy has just made available for download, the entire World of Goo soundtrack for your listening pleasure. And the best part is that it's completely free!
The soundtrack is 49 minutes long and has been completely remastered by Kyle Gabler. The 2D Boy servers have been bombarded with traffic, so much so that a mirror has been created to help with the increased traffic. If you hit a dead end, keep trying as the traffic will eventually die down enough for everyone to get the soundtrack.
We'd like to take a moment to thank Kyle and the rest of 2D Boy for making this amazing soundtrack available for all. It's easily one of the best video game musical offerings of last year.

World of Goo has a fantastic soundtrack which I don't often say about games.
My second first post, it's rare that I find the articles are soon as they're up.

Haven't played it but i heard the soundtrack is very good. I'm sure some people will enjoy this, More than having to pay around $30 for the Mega Man 9 soundtrack (Something around that price)

If you bought the PC version you would've already had the soundtrack, all songs are in the game files in Ogg Vorbis format

They get screwed by pirates and they STILL pass up an opportunity to make more money?
Either they're just nice guys or they're doing some hefty advertising for their next game.

I'm one of those people that didn't care TOO much about World of Goo (played the demo), but I do like the OST. Plus, free music is always a good thing, as long its good music which it definitely is.

Okay. They offer promotional material for free. Just as it should be. I cannot understand people who pay money for advertising a product within the circle of family and friends. Like with Mega Man. Capcom should really PAY US money if we wear T-Shirts from them or playing the music from their game at home or in the car. And not vice versa.

This is awesome. Can't wait for more top WiiWare soundtracks - LostWinds is one such game I'd love to hear on my iPod, and of course, there's the upcoming Bplus "albums".
Funny thing is, I was just about to e-mail 2D Boy asking if there was a soundtrack to WoG I could get without downloading the PC game - seems that they read my mind

@Ness: The production of TV-commercials and booklets also costs a lot of money. Would you, as customer, pay for it? Okay, perhaps Capcom is such a small company that they need to sell promotional material. But I doubt it.
Maybe some people might think that these Soundtrack CDs are no promotional material but completely re-arranged albums which are recorded in a studio and where famous producers, artists and musicians have worked on it. I think they are very gullible.
At least 2D Boy are not trying to muck their customers about. That's nice and I appreciate it very much.

With your argumentation every CD from every artist would be promotional material (to make the artist more well-known or to inveigle the cusomer to go on a concert for example).

@Ness: If you assume that a cd cover can be used in a practical way and it's worth 30 dollars, then you're probably right. Maybe for your collection of rare CDs or something? But I think it would be nice if Capcom would also offer their Soundtrack for free, just like 2D Boy.
After all it is nothing new, just ripped out of the game. They could at least offer a free version as MP3s and another one with CD and jewel case. Anyway, maybe I'm not enthusiastic enough to understand why people should pay for something like that.

@Nintendork: The Bplus soundtrack is better and much more enjoyable for those who have played the game. If you played PLATTCHEN, you'll agree that the music is really good. And hell, at least it's free.
