US WiiWare fans are playing catch-up this week with a Hudson puzzle title that came out in Europe in January.
The bizarrely titled Pop Them Drop Them SameGame is the sole WiiWare release this week, and for some reason the US title has been subtled altered to Pop 'Em Drop 'Em SameGame. Can you spot the difference?
Moniker-related mischief aside, all you really need to know is that Drake quite liked this and awarded it a robust 8/10 when he cast his critical eye over it back at the start of the year. Be sure to check out the review. Puzzle fans can't go wrong with this game, keenly priced at just 500 Nintendo points.
The Hudson theme continues over on the Virtual Console with two TG-16 releases from the company in the form of Bomberman ’94 and Detana!! TwinBee.

First. =P
But it looks like this Monday is Hudson's day. SAMEGAME has me interested to try out while the VC selection is looking good with Twinbee and Bomberman 94. I'm afraid though Wiiloveit isn't going to be too thrilled that NoE released SAMEGAME to us NAs. Hopefully Bit.Trip: Beat will be announced for release in Europe, guys.

I'll end up downloading this in the near future since it is only 500 points. _

For 500 points, I don't see how a puzzler fan can go wrong with this one. Looks like a solid title with a strong single player mode and some great, competitive multiplayer options. Methinks I shall have to pick it up.

Wow, you guys really got shafted on the WiiWare front. At least you got Twinbee and Bomberman '94.
Despite my respect for Drake, Same Game is definitely NOT worth 8/10 - more like 3/10.

As soon as I saw this headline I thought "finally - now NA users can give this great puzzler a go as well". And then when I reached the comments I thought "I wonder how long it will take before Calculon starts bashing it again", and whilst it wasn't quite "bashing", as I scrolled the page down slightly, there he was. Good ol' Calculon.

@Wiiloveit: Ha ha! XD
@joeshabadoo: Hudson has nothing to do with Tetris Party...
I just got the game and spent 40 minutes straight with it. It's quite hard to put down actually. It already gets at least a 7 in my books and the 8/10 is deserved. It's really hard to complain when it's only 500 Points and yet, still comes with just enough content to make it worth your while. It has a pick-up-and-play approach that makes it easy to just enjoy it in short bursts. Also, a nod to the music I've heard so far.
Obviously I haven't tried Multiplayer so I can't comment on that. Oh, I should add that the first time I played was without Bombs and it made it challenging but when you add Bombs, it takes away some of the challenge so if you're hoping for a more challenging experience, play without the Bombs because it requires you to plan ahead more.
Also, I should add that since it was announced, I was afraid I wouldn't like it. I actually thought it would be too basic for my tastes but I'm glad Hudson proved me wrong. Once again, Hudson does well.

Pop 'Em Drop 'Em SameGame, is an excellent game and in my opinion is worthy of the 8/10 it received. It is a simple game that can be very addicting trying to get the boards cleared and a higher score. I kept replaying the same level trying to top my previous bests and considering there are multiple boards with options, this is a pretty good deal.
The only fault I have with the game is the lack of a way to show what player achieved which high score. For a puzzle game, the ability to save initials by the high score should be included.

@ KnucklesSonic8: Hudson developed Tetris Party.

Well, at least no new game for Europe to catch up to so maybe we can get to closing the gap a bit (or possibly get something else that's interesting). I think expecting Bit.Trip Beat and Gradius in one week may be stretching it unless they're going to increase the releases per week.

The first thing I thought was "I dont like puzzlers, so whatever."
Then I went "Well, Drake and Wiiloveit love it (pun intended), so Ill give it a shot!"
Third I remembered I bought Bit Trip and only had 400 points.
Finally, I said "Aw ****

Here's info on another Hudson game and its a bombshell. IGN just revealed at the Wii site that a new Military Madness game is coming out on Wiiware this summer. Here's a quote, "The new version of Military Madness will feature all new 3D graphics, new units, online co-op and versus multiplayer, amongst other additions. Military Madness has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB. "

Great, we got a nice game, but a bit too simplistic for me
, my very similar cell version is more than enough, still, together with the vc releases this is a very good update.

@KS8: Hudson developed and released TP in Japan, but here it was published by the Tetris Company or whatevertheycallit.

Ah, okay, that explains it. Now I don't feel like such a bozo.
After I left WWW, I went back and played for over an hour. The game is very hard to put down and it most certainly is addicting. I love how I'm able to choose if I want a lightweight experience or if I want a more challenging one simply be selecting the number of colours and the grid size. Once you jump from 3 to 4 to 5 colours, the game gets significantly more challenging, and that's certainly very welcomed.
I'll be uploading a vid of me playing it shortly.

I was thinking that this would come soon, and I've been waiting for this game to come to U.S. since it came out in Europe, this is a definate buy for me.

Aw crap! I wish I had saved my points for this instead of Bit.Trip Beat...not that that game is bad, I just don't overly care for it. (I don't usually like difficult games and only being able to beat the first level is difficult.)
