Teleporters in action!

Teleporters in action!

Check out the teleporter function in Frobot.

Andrew Lum, producer of the upcoming WiiWare title Frobot, just sent us a brand new video showing the game's teleporter game play.

Below is a snippet taken from the official blog entry by Frobot designer Eric Esteb and describes the teleporter function found in various levels throughout the game. You can also check out the new video below for a bit more insight into how this feature works.

Hi everyone. I'm Eric Esteb, the game designer for Frobot, and it is my pleasure to introduce our newest feature. Frobot is now going to be traveling through, shooting through, and generally kicking ass with teleporters. As one might imagine, these teleporters move things from one place to another place instantaneously, making for some interesting and challenging new puzzles. Take a look.

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

We'll have more information on Frobot as it becomes available, as well as a full review when the game hits the WiiWare service.

Just not my type of game but the level design seems well done.

Here is the direct link. And I'll try to remember to start putting in a direct link for those who need it.

Interesting. Definitely needs some graphical flair, but this could turn into a fun puzzler.

yeah, I'm trying to be excited about this game, but I appear to be failing...

The simple Frobot concept (referring to the character more than anything else) sounds so cool, it's a shame that the game looks like utter crap. It needs MAJOR help before I'd want to spend money on that thing!

Sounds so fun, looks so bad. They really need to work on level design. These seem so uninspired.

I don't like the robot design. It looks imho absolutely absurd. And not in a funny way. Which player can identify with a dopey looking version of "Johnny 5"? And what is this hairstyle? And the name Frobot. Okay, Afro and robot. Is this supposed to be funny? Oh my!

Gameplay-wise it could be interesting, though. But I would prefer if they change the design (and the name) to something more serious and abstract and less "funny". I could imagine that a design like in Paradroid would fit well.

In the meantime, I'll sure need to check my sense of humor.

You guys are really no fun at all...could be a decent game and it has a nice 8-bit computer vibe right down to the music.

Surely someone else must have an appreciation for what's being done here?

Its Wiiware, its mainly about the gameplay really....

Simplicity is the art here...

I think it looks great. The music is the only weak link...I guess I'll disappoint Omega by saying this, but a 70s pimp-themed robot IS funny to me.

Omega

15. Omega Germany 28 May 2009, 12:52 BST

No, Chicken, you don't disappoint me. How could you? If this is your opinion on the game, I have no problem with it. And I won't hold you back from buying it if it's going to be released this way. I would even suggest, for your sake, to give him a clown nose and rotating bow tie. That makes it perhaps even funnier. :-P

To my knowledge, 70s pimps didn't wear clown noses or bow-ties...

At least, the successful ones didn't.

No, sorry. Of course not. My imagination ran amuck with me. ;-)

Reminds me of a Amiga game i used to have, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. This game does look a bit bland, there just isn't enough going on, however i will reserve judgement untill it is released.

The graphics are ugly but some of the puzzles they've shown off seem pretty well done, I'd say I'm mildly interested.

I like the puzzles and the whole WiiPlay Tanks vibe. With more bells and whistles (multiplayer and online options would be nice, hint hint) this could be a game that surprises many people.

That music is awesome; it's like if Paradroid had a soundtrack. Nothing like 8-bit audio!
