Impressive first week debut!

It's time to take a look at the most popular WiiWare titles available on the Wii Shop Channel. If you're feeling adventurous you can even take a look for yourself by simply logging on to your Wii Shop Channel, heading into the WiiWare section and then viewing "Popular Games". It's that easy!

We compile this list using the USA region Wii Shop channel, so if you live elsewhere your list will probably be quite a bit different. Please feel free to post your region's findings below as always.

Keep in mind that the list below is a measure of actual sales made recently, not of the total time the game has been available for sale.

Well we had another WiiWare release make its Top 20 debut during its first week of release this week with Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 1 popping up at #11. It's easily one of the more impressive WiiWare debuts we've seen to date. We also saw the debut of one of last week's releases 5 Spots Party on the Top 20 at #18. Could this end up being a sleeper hit on the chart?

The big climber this week was easily Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My life as a Darklord, which rocketed up 11 spots to #2. Could this be our next #1 WiiWare release in the making? It's looking very likely. The big dropper this week was BUST-A-MOVE Plus!, which fell six spots to #9.

But with the debut of two new titles this week, that means two titles dropped off of the chart completely, with Bubble Bobble Plus and Swords & Soldiers both dropping off the Top 20. It's a bit sad to see these two solid titles fall off the chart, but if the past is any indication, they could be back.
