Nintendo has revealed a brand-new trailer for the upcoming Princess Peach: Showtime! on Nintendo Switch, launching on March 22nd, 2024.
While the trailer is light on story elements, we get to see a whole bunch of cool costumes from the game, including the newly revealed Ninja Peach and Cowgirl Peach. Previously revealed costumes include Swordfighter Peach, Detective Peach (no relation to Detective Pikachu... we think), and Kung Fu Peach.
The game currently stands as the only truly original first-party Switch game in 2024 so far. Nintendo's other offerings include Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, all of which are remakes or remasters of previously released Nintendo games.
Here's some official information from Nintendo:
"Players will battle enemies from the footlights to the rafters, taking on the role of a swordfighter, a detective, a kung fu master, a pâtissière and more. But this is no ordinary adventure – it’s going to take even more panache from Peach to bring this play to its triumphant final bow.
"As Ninja Peach, she will call upon her sneaking abilities as she uses shadows, shrubbery and makeshift bamboo snorkels to surprise and thwart her enemies. On levels where you need to be a little more brash, Cowgirl Peach yee-haws into action. Her horseback-riding expertise is matched only by her deftness with a lasso, and you’ll need both to make sure Peach rides off into the sunset …or at least into the next scene."
Princess Peach: Showtime! is available for pre-order now:

This continues to look great. Cowgirl Peach and Ninja Peach look like a lot of fun to play as.
Hopefully there will be some surprise costumes that they don't reveal in marketing.
Have conflicting feelings about this one, on one hand it's awesome to have another game starring Peach, and it looks pretty creative and outside the box, but on the other hand it doesn't really look like a $60 Nintendo game. It has more of an indie feel to it, which is fine, but considering that this is the only new first party game announced currently I'm expecting more. I hope I'm wrong.
This looks super fun! I love cooking/baking/food-themed games in general, so the part I'm most looking forward to is playing as Pâtissière Peach. I hope there'll be lots of delicious food in this game!
Happy that we got to see more of this game and love the new costumes, looking forward to future trailers - would be surprised if it didn't show up in the next Direct assuming there's one in the same period as usual so before Showtime comes out - and then finally playing it (can't believe it's only two months away now)!
To whoever was worried about her face change on the cover previously reported, her in-game model seems a nice blend of both styles. I liked it
Really nice. Looking forward to this one. Also still hoping Daisy will be a secret unlockable in this or something but probably not lol.
Why is it that every year Nintendo seems to give the Mario franchise more love than the Zelda universe? Where's Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD for Switch, Nintendo? You may have guessed, but I won't be getting this Princess Peach game any time soon.
This game looks really fun! The new costumes are quite cool. I don't think I'll be getting day 1 (unless it's a master piece), but I'll end up playing it for sure. It has a Luigi's Mansion feeling that it's always nice to see.
I'm still waiting for my Pirate Peach costume.
Cowgirl Peach?
Oh come on Nintendo,
give the hentai merchants some work to do.
@SwagaliciousJohnson
Zelda has enough love. Donkey Kong is the franchise Nintendo is ignoring. Well, that and also F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Star Fox, ARMS, Golden Sun, and Wario Land.
@SwagaliciousJohnson If Nintendo keeps up this cadence of remakes and remasters to keep us occupied in 2024, I feel Twilight Princess and Wind Waker could well be just around the corner.
... Then again, I'm sure someone says the same thing every year.
Looking great. I also like her model design here a lot as well.
Haven't made up my mind yet if this is a priority game for me or not, but I'm glad it's looking really good.
A lot of good action.
@SwagaliciousJohnson I prefer Zelda myself but there's no denying that this title will generate far more than some HD Zelda ports.
As a North Carolinian, I'm calling her cowgirl transformation: "Texas Peach."
I want to be excited for this but after 4 months of basically no info, these 5 second clips don't really impress me at all. It seems like it's gonna be a mess of different platforming challenges and minigames.
Tbf it might just be an awful trailer. Most trailers cut between scenes fast, but not this one. Here we open the curtains, see Peach dress as a detective, she walks around slowly for like 5 seconds with no context, and then the curtains close again. Like that's it, that's the scene.
Looks great! Still can’t make out heads nor tails of the gameplay besides some light 2.5D platforming with some horde fighting. I hope it doesn’t take up too much of the next Direct, but it could use its own Direct or a video like what Mario Wonder got before launch. There’s still plenty to learn.
@BLD I certainly see where you're coming from, the trailer indicates there are platforming elements etc. but without showing enough to convince that it'll be gameplay-rich rather than a bunch of 5-minute transformation novelties.
Not giving up hope though. Looking forward to the amiibo-unlockable Pole-Dancing Peach...
I get it marketing is hard but this is not how you get people to buy your game. I'm sure its going to sell but what is it?
Errr...I don't know why people aren't talking about it, but what's up with her voice?
Did peach get a new voice actress and I didn't notice? I've been playing SMB Wonder and she sounds a bit different, but here it's like a totally different voice.
Doesn't really sound like Peach tbh....but im also listening to this at a low volume through my phones speaker at work 🤣
I love the visual style of this game for sure. I am not 100% sold on the gameplay yet as it seems to be all over the map. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, e.g. WarioWare, but I just want to know more details before I commit to this one.
Really looking forward to this game. Looks to be fun and full of variety. I was gonna push this back for dragon’s dogma 2 but I guess I will get both.
@NIN10DOXD Hot Sauce? (Now I want chicken…) I am still mad about the chili.
Although I think Georgia Peach is a fair joke. Carolina Girl over here (though I moved away), always happy to see a fellow Southerner.
>They didn't give her a gun
Cowards
This seems like a nice mix between platforming and mini-games. I would imagine either the gameplay is a bit more interesting/deep, either there will be more "transformations", but I'm sure my 9 year-old will love this one.
You gotta have the detective trope where they crouch and look through the magnifying glass and creep around looking through the magnifying glass. That's what detectives do, there's just muddy footprints, muddy footprints all over the place so you put on the goofy hat and put your eyeball up to the magnifying glass and just crouch all over, gotta do it. Eyeballs and footprints and brown trench coats and magnifying glasses.
You really just gotta sneak around and look really closely through the magnifying glass at all the muddy footprints, you gotta do it. Big eyeball close-up through the glass. It's gotta be done, just do it, look through the glass at all the clues, gather them up. Big eyeball looking at footprints, looking at you.
I would certainly play it, but not at Nintendo’s pricing.
This is looking like another Yoshi's Crafted World for me; a game that I'll be curious about, but never fully commit to purchasing. I like Peach's new voice though. Let's bring this one back for future games!
From the trailer I get the impression "Princess Peach: Showtime!" might be a "Mario Party" for one.
@Uncle_Franklin hentai?
I had to google hentai princess peach and now I wish I didn't.
Eh, I'm happy for those that are excited about this game but nothing has impressed me so far. I'm not big on the whole gameplay switch up tbh and it feels like stuff that wouldn't interest me.
This is looking truly fantastic.
This game is looking gooder and gooder everytime I see it.
Ok the more I see for this game the more awesome peach looks to me!
Looks like it can be a pretty fun game. Still keeping an eye on it.
@Lofoten Yeah, that's what kind of worries me, so far we've just seen single screens of (Albeit fun-looking) action, how does it all hang together?
I prefer lengthier levels, but how does that work with what we've seen for Cowboy or Patissiere Peach?
This game looks very creative & fun but it also looks to be targeted to a younger demographic. It'll be an easy pass for me but I do hope it sells well!
I feel like they've done a really poor job communicating what this game actually IS. It kind of seems to exist somewhere between being a hybrid 2D / 3D platformer and a minigame collection but it's really hard to discern what the actual focus of it is.
I'm quite excited to see what they end up doing with a peach game. this'll be the first one we've had since the DS days.
@BLD Those clips did go by very fast. I thought that too but I still wasn't left with impression it'd be quite like that. I still think it looks like different minigame segments with the different costumes. To me that look fun to join in with, rather than rushing through everything like in the trailer. I.e A better length of time than just 5 seconds of doing this and that, but probably this is still minigames and lots of platformer segments.
It might not be for everyone but the action looks good so far.
The problem is that it's not clear enough for everyone to understand yet but I think they're hiding a lot of the footage on purpose right now. I think they wanted it to be quick glimpses on purpose. It depends if a better trailer is planned in a February direct.
I feel a lot of Nintendo games now hide most of the info until very very close to release. Side Order seems to be doing that and TotK did it.
The graphics and models look good. I think they should just make it clearer, but so far it looks good to me and not something that will be too rushed, so I'm not worried at the moment. I can't prove anything until more is revealed for certain though.
They need a clearer trailer but I think that will come, I'd wait longer before worrying as the trailers are short but not bad footage either, but I get it's close to release now and the game should start getting clearer.
Looks interesting, but what is this game? Is it a platformer, minigame game, RPG? I really have no clue and I am not going to buy something before I know what it is.
I wonder if people still pissed about this, that Nintendo change Princess Peach's design in the NA boxart to that of the movie version.
It seems to me that each world/scenario has a different style gameplay to it, which to me sounds quite fun and unique. I will definitely be getting this day one.
@Uncle_Franklin
You beat me to it! Coming soon: Reverse Cowgirl Peach and/or something involving My Little Pony.
@NinChocolate I have some unfortunate news for you. Nintendo is cheaper than a lot of the other games out there. Especially when you consider games now have the base game + game pass + DLC + microstransactions + other crap I can't think of.
If you aren't interested, just go to an article you do care about.
Oooh nintja peach. Pff these character designs are aoo ready for smash lol. Ninja peach reminds me of Sheik/Zelda.
There are few examples of a game I've seen more OF while seeing nothing ABOUT.
Two English (that I know of) and 3 Japanize trailers, as well as several print "first looks" and ... I don't know what Genre this is. Mini games? Action RPG? Puzzle game? Platformer? All of the above?
I'm pretty sure Peach is in it! But that's about all.
Aw yes, new forms, especially Ninja Peach, which greatly appeals to my Japanese love.
Game looks really fun and I love the design of each outfit.
Go Ninja! Go Ninja! Go!
Slice like a Ninja, cut like a razor blade so fast all the Goombas say Damn! 😉
Surprisingly I'll say I'm intrigued, but as others have said there's much to be revealed about what this game will amount to
I still don't see anything that gives this game an E10+ rating.
This game will be an addition to my collection eventually. And this time the internet is not telling me where I can play it, unlike Super Princess Peach.
Looks fun and creative. Looking forward to this release.
@Zeebor15 You can play with her with a gun in Mario & Rabbids lol
Detective peachachu
I'm sorry, i had to
@the_beaver It's the principle of the matter.
The transformations remind me so much of a Kirby game.
Can we call the Cowgirl version "Georgia Peach?"
CanweCanweCanweCanweCanwe pleeeeease
Now we know why Bowser calls her Peaches in the plural. So his "I looooooove you" must mean "you" also in the plural.
And @The-Chosen-one, I agree that now the Mushroom Kingdom has its own Sheik.
I'm not seeing the appeal of this one personally. Hopefully it turns out great.
Pretty cool. I'm really enjoying all the different costumes and playstyles for Peach in this game.
Boswette reveal trailer when
Love it, very excited for this. Enough with the tiresome remakes, new original games like this please.
@XCWarrior The first part of your comment is disingenuous. It neglects to mention the historical pricing of other games and their DLC including major titles from the likes of Sony and MS. Other major publishers will discount prices by 50% and more on major titles and DLC.
The second part of your comment is unnecessary controlling.
Sees Cowgirl Peach
Ride like the wind, Princess!
I am looking forward to it and will definitely be pre-ordering when I can! I hope it's successful and becomes a new series.
Cowgirl Peach... my only weakness... 🥹
Looks like Kirby meets WarioWare. It's a cool concept and I'm glad Peach is finally being allowed to do her own thing again. Even if this doesn't appeal to me personally, I'm hopeful for the future of the Mario franchise giving us more diverse ways to experience the characters.
@Serpenterror It still looks super off to me lol. I've never liked the "make em mad on the box to appeal to the western crowd" thing that Japanese companies do.
@NIN10DOXD This 'ere castle ain't big enough fer the two of us.
Still haven't figured out what this game is supposed to be. Warioware with Peach?
Hey Nintendo:
Samus Showroom, when?
The platforming in the Ninja section actually looks really fun. Most of them look quite fun, though not totally sure about the detective part. Really looking forward to this game though.
They should take the most popular sections and make a new full game for each! The more Peach games the better. 😀
Is it bad that I'm mostly hyped for the Peach NSO icons that will come from this?
I love how this is continuing the trend that was set forth by Super Princess Peach that she's not always simply helpless and incapable. It also ties into her go get 'em attitude from the movie, so this is all good stuff.
Only thing exciting about this game for me is the peach designs. The gameplay is definitely designed for little girls in mind from the looks of it
The game looks great, but for some reason it seems like we'll beat the game in like, 30 min??? There seems to be no continuity in any of the microgames
This game is going to boost Peach rule 34 content, I can't wait for it.
@CharlieZee "hentai?
I had to google hentai princess peach and now I wish I didn't"
Your comment made me google it... and i wish i didn't 😂
Two new cool transformations.^^
The biggest takeaway here is:
This is what happens, when a Nintendoconsole is that successful. They have room for just throwing out weirdos like this.
On the WiiU, they also did some of these, but it always felt completely wrong as we were hoping they'd gonna show the world now what the WiiU was capable of and then they announced some weird little mini game (can't really remember them but I remember some directs where I felt exactly like this)
On the Switch, this is perfectly fine as there is so much stuff to chose from, I couldn't complain.
It seems to be an in-house developed game, which should make it way better than “Super Princess Peach” (Tose) or “Yoshi’s Crafted World” that someone brought up and which was outsourced to Good-Feel.
@UltimateOtaku91 You're correct, don't get why people are so confused about what this game is when we got to see it in the previous trailer: each stage, pun intended, has a different scenario and so a different costume and mechanics for Peach... kind of like A Hat in Time now that I think about it (haven't played that myself yet unfortunately, but have seen enough of it to know about that)!
The gameplay variety looks so fun I cant wait for this. I never got a chance to get super princess peach back on the ds so this will be my first peach game.
@NinChocolate we are talking about a new game, not something that's been out 3 weeks on Sony/MS and already sees a discount. But the number games whose total cost if you want everything is well past $100 is way too many from "AAA" Devs.
And learn want controlling means. You will be a lot happier if you read articles you care about, and more angry if you read things you have already predetermined you do not like.
What I want is Amiibos version of Peach that would be a collectors Dream set.
When this was revealed I've been more hesitant and didn't like this theatre type theme but now the more I see the more I am interested. Will have to wait for reviews for this though.
