Topic: April Nintendo Direct Leak

According to many posts I've been seeing online, the next Nintendo Direct may have leaked out. The linked images show folders on a PC that I assume are for the games that will appear during the direct. Alongside of that there is a logo for a new Ubisoft IP. Could this be real? The logo and the overall contents of this leak have me thinking it could be.

I'll give whoever made this a little credit, as rather than making a clearly fake document they've copied the style of one of the very rare legit Nintendo Direct leaks - back in 2016 the contents of a Direct was leaked via a Windows screenshot just like this.

Unfortunately they've fallen down the same trap as almost every fake leak maker and given it WAY too many big-name announcements. Especially this late in a console's lifespan, I'd expect maybe 2-3 new games from major Nintendo series announced in a Direct, this has 9.

Yeah, even though most of them seem to be remakes/ports (which would be fair this late in the system's life), there seem to be way too many first party announcements here (2 Metroid remakes/ports, Wind Waker, NSMB Wii/DS, DKCR, Big Brain Academy Collection (lol), Fire Emblem, Mario Party, Xenoblade Warriors). Certainly they'd hold off a couple of those for an even later Direct if they were real.

I'd love to be proven wrong though, just because I want a Xenoblade Warriors so much.

The 'date modified' looks super suspicious. Also, why would we need or want so much more Epic Mickey info when we just had it in a recent direct

And nsmb DS + Wii collection? Seems an odd combination out of the 3 games. I would expect all 3, just one, or DS + 3DS.

And Big Brain Academy Collection feels like a fever dream.

Yeah, some of these are easy pickings and obvious guesses to make. Every list has to have Wind Waker HD and Metroid Prime 2/3 at this point. Throwing in some Microsoft stuff? I mean sure, why not. And then obviously pad it with some stuff we already know about. But some of these are just.... I'm not sure why they'd even bother tier

The biggest standout to me is "New Super Mario Bros DS + Wii". Ahh, why? That feels like an odd collection to me. It's not like these games are ones that we're desperately asking to revisit. And throwing the Wii/DS branding in there is especially odd, particularly when the original New SMB was never called New SMB DS. Also, why not 2? If Nintendo was to do this, as odd as it might seem, I would think they'd market it as something more along the lines of "New SMB Collection" and include levels from across the series

So yeah, a lot of this is off but for me the New SMB one is the dead giveaway for me

Sure....

There's just...so much that indicates this is a fake leak:

• 9 new first-party games, with 1 being an extremely obscure DS game that would presumably have a retranslated title? That's not happening
• They are not teasing a codename for the next system in a Direct. They're just not.
• Mario Party Remix'd screams "a fan came up with this name in 5 seconds"
• The consensus is that Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are headed to Switch 2 and not the regular Switch
• They're not doing an NSMB combo pack port just after Wonder
• There are only a few third-parties, and companies that basically always have announcements like Square Enix appear to be MIA
• They never do digital-only segments
• They never do blatant ad inserts
• Xenoblade Warriors is commonly discussed in fan circles
• Prime 4 being absent is also conspicuous because it's an obvious fan thing to assume it's only headed to the Switch successor
• The spelling is not correct for a number of games, most notably "Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door" - it's missing a colon and a hyphen
• The folders are very inconsistently formatted to boot

About the only thing that sounds legit is that Nintendo would pull a Nintendo and only give us Wind Waker HD

If I made a fake leak, I'd just include Star Fox: Grand Prix again, because it would be funny.

It would be good to hear in April what Switch 2 is and will be like.

I will literally scream if xenoblade warriors is real, I swear. But that honestly just sounds waaay too good to be true. To think I could get my dream mosu I will be so happy I swear.

Sadly though this is 99% fake, there is just a lot that seems suspicious and it’s not just xenoblade warriors being a thing lol. But hey one percent is one percent.
